The Pros and Cons of Renting A Carpet Cleaning Machine

Vacuum your carpets all the time, and you'll have a floor covering that's free of loose surface dust. No matter how powerful your vacuum cleaner is though, it's never going to get be able to get the dirtthats lodged deep down. Carpet manufacturers actually tell you that you can’t just get away with vacuuming something. They recommend that once every two years or so, you’re supposed to get professional carpet cleaning carried out. The only problem is, that this can be quite expensive. There's one way out of this though – you can actually look for carpet cleaning machine rental.

Before you go looking for that carpet cleaning machine rental though, you want to understand what exactly you're supposed to get for your money.

The cleaning machine is supposed to be able to get rid of stains and not just lose dirt. It's supposed to wash your carpet clean. The cleaner is supposed to use soap and water to clean carpet out and it's supposed to leave it close to dry – kind of the way spin-drying clothes in washing machine would do.

Now before you actually approach a carpet cleaning machine rental business, you want to decide who's going to operate the machine. These can be quite heavy. They are nothing like vacuum cleaners. If it's a woman who is going to be doing it, it has to be light enough for her to drag around the house.

Look for a model that has special abilities in edge cleaning. Rotating brushes wouldn't be a bad idea, either. On a rental machine, you do want to make sure that you are getting something that actually works. Rental machines get around a lot and the machine you are handed may not actually be in good condition.

When you actually rent a machine, you have to remember that it's not like a vacuum cleaner; it isn't a self-contained solution. You need to think about the cost of buying soap for it – which will be extra. Renting will also involve what you'll spend on going to pick the machine up and then returning it.

Once you have your machine lined up, make sure that you clean the right way. Vacuum the area first to take care of any loose dirt. Move furniture away and for what you can’t move away, place plastic under all the feet. You want to do this because otherwise, the wetness of the carpet could loosen furniture wood finishes and you could stain your carpet in the process.

And finally, make sure that you do your carpet cleaning in the summer when there's warm air around to dry your carpet.
